Illinois Legislators to Vote on Blockchain Support
The State of Illinois continues to move forward on its support and study of blockchain and distributed-ledger technologies, reported John Mirkovic, Deputy Recorder – Communications, Cook County Recorder of Deeds last night at a Chicago FinTank Blockchain event. The Illinois House is preparing to vote on a blockchain bill, part of a “sweeping effort” on the part of the state to support the technologies.
Mirkovic also gave an update on Cook County’s trial for legal deed verification using blockchain, a first. As Chicago trader and angel investor Jeffrey Carter wrote, “the blockchain road will go through Chicago.”
